The hunt sequence

A hunt begins when you get within detection range of a target, triggering a chase. Both your speed and stamina decide whether the catch lands, so do not start a chase with an empty stamina bar.

Use stealth and positioning

Closing distance quietly with crouch and stealth before you sprint dramatically improves your success rate. Cut off escape routes by using terrain and forcing prey toward water or rocks where they cannot flee freely.

Hunt big prey as a team

Large prey like Buffalo and Giraffe have enough health to fight back, and solo hunting them is risky. An organized pride that pounces together can bring down high-health targets and even take an Elephant, which is why joining a coordinated group is the most efficient way to hunt the toughest animals.
